Mrs. Jacobson's Tips for
TAKING CARE OF YOUR BOOKS
So many books, so little time . . .
but you must take some time to take care of your books!
Some things you should and shouldn't do:
|
Make sure your hands are clean when you handle a book. |

Turn the pages carefully so that you don't tear them. |

Use a bookmark.
Don't fold corners of the pages.
Don't place the book face-down when it's open - this will ruin the spine.

|
Don't write in your book. The book already has words - you don't need to add any!

|
Don't eat or drink and read at the same time. You don't need to feed your book!

|
Put your book in a safe place when you're not reading. Don't let pets or baby brothers/sisters get a hold of your book!

If something happens to your book - don't try to fix it yourself. Bring it to the librarian and tell her what happened so she knows how to fix it. What do you do if a book is damaged? Tell your librarian.

Remember to return your books on time. Then, others can enjoy them too!
